Alex was very clear in communication both in quote and during the whole process of replacing old picture window with 3 ganged Anderson window; insulating and vinyl siding front of home, as well as entry way landing level concrete and vinyl encased soffit ; support posts and stair rails.

STRUCTURAL REPAIRS & REMODELING
Home renovations are something most home-owners don't usually look forward to. The cost and inconvenience of the prospect give most normal people severe anxiety at best. I came to Alex through the recommendation of a friend and serious home-improvement junky. I knew the recommendation was as good as gold. Sure enough, Alex was a pro from minute one. He called me back promptly and was very professional in his demeanor. Since the renovation was, unfortunately, structural in nature, Alex gave me the name and number of a quality structural engineering firm he had worked with previously. This made working with both parties easy and seamless. After the structural plans were drawn up and the work was ready to commence, Alex and I were able to negotiate a fair price for the work. He was able to start quickly. He and his right hand man, Randy, came to the house every morning on, and even before the agreed upon, start time. Communication about permitting and other trades people was spot on. Communication about pricing and what to expect were also spot on. Alex does not pull punches. His contract was clear and easy to understand. His work is not cheap but I do feel strongly that you get what you pay for. As I have learned in the past you can't cut corners, so don't be cheap about a major renovation, spend the money on a quality contractor who will not do you dirty. Alex took care of the project beautifully and kept me properly informed the whole way. He and Randy also had a good sense of humor, and are quite personable. It was nice to chat with them in the morning before work. The quality and pride of their work shows. My wife and I had a list of things we needed taken care of and Alex addressed all of them quickly and professionally. Thank you Alex and Randy for making this renovation a positive experience. We would use Alex's services again without thinking twice.

As a new / first time home owner I enlisted Alex to review and provide some solutions to a basement that had ground water due to a nearby creek. NEW STAIRS/CARPENTRY
We engaged Alex to replace our front steps because they were getting old and the wood had warped years ago and there were nails that wouldn't stay down. Alex removed the stairs and all the understructure, poured a new slab at ground level and replaced all exposed surfaces with Azek products. Needless to say, the stairs now look terrific. The work was done quickly, on time, and very neatly. Now we're looking forward to making the same update to the rest of the front porch.

BATHROOM RENOVATION PROJECT
This is the second bathroom renovation project that we have asked Alex to tackle. We wanted to convert a shower stall to a tub since there is no other tub in the house, and the plumbing needed replacing due to age. With great efficiency, Alex (plus one) gutted the room to the studs and moved one wall out to give us the room we needed for the tub. The window was moved over to give us enough wall space for towels. The new tub, toilet, vanity, and more were installed. But what you notice when you approach the bathroom, after acknowledging how bright the room is, is the floor tile. This is where renovation skills show the most. Tubs and toilets are machine-made. Laying tile takes skill. And ours looks great. And if you snoop a little further into the room you'll find a built-in set of custom shelves that nicely fills an otherwise unusable volume, and will be just right for storing shampoo and spare towels. Overall, the new room looks terrific. As in every renovation project, there were surprises along the way that added stress and delay. But Alex was patient and helped us make the decisions that had to be made. We're going to take a break from big projects for a while, but when the time comes, we'll ask Alex for his services again.

REPAIR WORK
I recently had A. Moutsoulas Home Improvement repair a ceiling that had taken on water damage due to a broken pipe. Alex and his crew arrived as expected. NEW DOOR
We had a new front door installed by Moutsoulas Home Improvement Services. Alex was a complete pro in all aspects of this job. His first advise was picking out the door. We were originally going to just use a Home depot type door. Alex recommended looking at Harvey Products and advised us to go to there showroom in Burlington, just down the street from us. We were so glad we did. Our new door is beautiful. Factory painted Cranberry finish. The installation went a lot quicker than we thought. Alex showed up at 7:30am and was done by 3:00pm. New door, frame, storm door complete and Alex took away all the old material. We left Alex and a helper there alone at our house for most of the day, without a worry. ANDERSON WINDOW REPLACEMENT
Alex Moutsoulas does excellent, top quality work. He recently installed a custom-sized casement window for us in the family room. The scope of the project involved removing the old window entirely, including interior and exterior trim, installing the new window, insulating the new window, installing flashing as needed, installing interior and exterior trim, and, finally, installing new exterior clapboard siding. The project was done in a timely manner, the quality of the work was excellent, the clean-up was thorough, and the price was very reasonable. Communication throughout the whole process was clear. REMODELING
Alex remodeled our game room, laundry room and storage closet after ice damn damage this winter. He took down the ceilings, walls in laundry room and closet, and rug in game room. He gave me a beautiful smooth ceiling which I had always wanted after buying the house with a terrible ceiling. He put down a laminate floor which looks great. In the late Summer we had Alex Moutsoulas Improvement Services replace our old wooden deck for a composite one. EMERGENCY REPAIRS
I used Alex and his team’s services in September (2013) for some emergency repair work in my master bathroom. The residence was in a condo complex and it seemed that the unit above mine had a very leaky toilet which was spilling on the ceiling of my master bathroom causing it to bow and spring a few leaks. I called Alex after using his services in the past for various needs to help me out and he came the very next day as time was a factor in completing the work. Not only was he there first thing, but he began the repair efforts right away. The ceiling (4’ x 6’ section) and upper walls were completely repaired and replaced (as needed) and made to blend with the rest of the bathroom. It looks as though it never happened. He additionally helped me work with my insurance company to help move things along accordingly.
Alex was a great help and not only does he get the right team involved to perform the work needed, but he is on site and hands on himself to complete the work especially when time is a factor. His crew is also very professional and good at what they do. My family has also used his services and have nothing but good things to say.

HOME IMPROVEMENTS
We have used Alex several times in the past for window, gutters etc. We NEEDED to gut a pantry closet ASAP that had a collapsed ceiling. We thought we would just replace it as it had been. Upon gutting said pantry we gained about a foot more room and Alex had a suggestion...why not put in a few cabinets so we would FINALLY have somewhere to sit and take off our shoes as our kitchen is also our entryway ( as in most old New England homes). The result is so much more esthetically pleasing and after almost a decade, there's no shoes all over my kitchen! Also on this contract we had our basement windows replaced, and some reframed upon the recommendation of Alex (some were in rougher shape than others.) Last but not least is our "bulk head", which is more like a third entry way but was in very poor condition. When I arrived home and it was resided, flashed and new gutters were installed it literally made me cry for joy! These few improvements have made the whole house look better!

I requested Alex's assitance with two issues:

Professional, very clean, very careful, quality of work exceeded expectations. Price was right! On time and finished when he said he would be finished. Would use his services again. I was COMPLETELY SATISFIED and HIGHLY RECOMMEND HIM---- Thanks for a job well done!!

NEW BATHROOM
We contacted Alex in response to a recommendation by some close friends. Our bathroom needed a full overhaul. Alex was polite and professional at all times, and was very patient with us, as there were lengthy delays while we picked fixtures and tile, etc. His work was always very exacting and he always cleaned up after himself completely. The results are quite impressive -- our dark, carpeted 1950's bathroom is now a bright inviting place. The only negative comment I can make is that his plumber isn't quite as neat and clean as Alex is. The work is all good, don't get me wrong. And so far, everything works as it is supposed to. He (the plumber) even came back to fix a couple items that weren't really his fault. All in all, the experience has been quite positive, and we expect to invite Alex back for more projects.

HOME IMPROVEMENTS
I wanted to take a moment out of my day to express my appreciation for the timely, neat & professional job that Alex provided when working on our property. We hired him for a very simple gutter installation & upon further investigation he found that our two dormer windows were completely wrotted &covered in mold (from the lack of aformentioned gutters). He installed new framing & replacement windows. All debris was cleaned up from our yard, again, an important detail wheras we have two small dogs. I cannot speak hightly enough and I am greatful he caught the wrought before it became a larger & more expensive situation!
